Membership

FAWEMA has four categories of membership namely; Full Membership, Associate Membership, Honorary Membership and Friends of FAWEMA.

FAWEMA members are “Educationists” or people who have passion or commitment to promote girls’ education in Malawi.

The rights of Members

  • Members in all categories shall be entitled to participate in the deliberations of the General Assembly.
  • Honorary Members who have not also been admitted as Full Members and Associate Members may attend meetings and participate in the deliberations of the General Assembly but shall have no voting rights.
  • Only Full Members who have paid their Membership fee in Full shall have voting rights at meetings of FAWEMA.
  • Full Members have the right to seek election to the structures of FAWEMA.
  • Voting in General Assembly on any matter shall be on the basis of one vote for each Full Member.

Full Members

  •  To honor all financial obligations imposed upon them by FAWEMA.
  • To promote the aims and objectives of FAWEMA in every way including the creation of structures and organs approved by, to advance its work.
  • To attend the Annual General Assembly.
  • To participate in the fundraising operations of FAWEMA; and
  • To assist FAWEMA in implementing its functions when called upon to so.

Associate Members

  •  To honour all financial obligations imposed upon them by FAWEMA.
  • To assist FAWEMA in promoting its mandate.
  • To liaise with the Secretariat of FAWEMA or any Full Member of FAWEMA when, in view of the Associate Member, intervention is necessary, and
  • To participate in functions held by FAWEMA when invited, including fundraising activities.
  • Honorary Members

Honorary Members

  • Freely share their experience with FAWEMA in their areas of expertise, including administrative advice, of their own initiative or when called upon by FAWEMA to do so.
  • Attend functions organized by FAWEMA when so invited.

Friends of FAWEMA

  • Assist FAWEMA in promoting its mandate.
  • Liaise with the Secretariat of FAWEMA or any Full Member of FAWEMA when, in view of the Friend of FAWEMA, intervention is necessary.
  • Participate in functions held by FAWEMA when invited, including fundraising activities; and
  • Provide support and financial support according to their capacity.
